After successful games based on the classic 80s slasher properties like Friday the 13th and The Chainsaw Massacre ( that’s coincidentally just about to add a Barbara Crampton DLC )- another 80s horror gem is about to join them. That of course is a game based on the cult Chiodo Bros. feature Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988). And keeping with the format it will also be an asymmetrical multiplayer game.

For those who somehow missed it- Killer Klowns is the only feature film written and directed by special effects legends- The Chiodo Bros and it features a clan of evil aliens who look suspiciously like our Earth clowns (with an interest in hunting us down, killing us and harvesting our organs- just like regular clowns too!)

Pre- order starts today, February 21st with the game available on Steam, PS5 and Xbox X/S on June 4th. You can also enjoy the full trailer bellow via IGN:

And who knows, maybe this renewed interest will kickstart the franchise and we’ll finally get a sequel movie or a TV show that’s been in development for decades now. But until then:

Earlier this year we reported about David “Bolo Jr.” Yeung‘s casting in the 80’s and 90’s Martial Arts tribute The Last Kumite but now we have something even better, the first trailer for the movie.

Released today via ComingSoon.net The Last Kumite trailer promises everything from the deadly duels to the classic training montages with (almost) all the actors you remember from the old VHS rental days, actors like: Cynthia Rothrock (No Retreat, No Surrender 2), Billy Blanks (The Kings of Kickboxers), Matthias Hues (Dark Angel), Michel Qissi (Kickboxer) and Kurt McKinney (No Retreat, No Surrender).

And the hero Rivers is played by the German action star Mathis Landwehr (Lasko – Die Faust Gottes).

So, without further ado, let’s take a trip back down the memory lane and enjoy one Last Kumite:

…with an extra dose of Blanks!

Things have been ramping up in the Norris camp for a while now. After showing up in the second to last episode of Hawaii Five O (2020)- show action choreographed by his son Eric Norris he followed that up with voice work in a 90s style video game Crime Boss: Rockay City (2023) and then recently by playing a mentor role to Vanilla Ice‘s eponymous secret agent in an upcoming Australian action comedy Zombie Plane (2024).

Now, if that wasn’t enough now it’s reveled that he also stars in a movie by writer/ director & actor Derik Ting called Agent Rekon (2024). And here’s an official synopsis:

Alastair (Norris), the commander of a covert Earth security task force, calls upon super-powered rookie Jim (Ting) to go on a mission led by battle-hardened Colonel Green (Singer) and his seasoned marines to track a mysterious energy disturbance at a base in New Mexico suspected of experimenting on alien technology. When the team encounters an unknown being of not only extraordinary strength and speed, but also the ability to control mindless warriors, the trio must fight through unstoppable hordes to uncover the truth behind the hostile alien fortress and prevent humanity’s demise.

Not only does Agent Recon features Chuck Norris, he is also teaming up with another genre movie legend Mark Singer (Beastmaster, V, Cyberzone ). Considering how long both of them have been in a business it’s pretty strange they haven’t crossed paths ’till now.

Love the fact that Norris hit his classic Invasion USA pose!

Also, special treat is- all of his action scenes will be choreographed by his youngest son Dakota Norris in his I believe first movie. We haven’t seen too much Martial Arts from Norris in years, so I’m genuinely interested to see what he comes up with for his dad. And to his credit- Chuck still movies surprisingly well for his age!

-“We couldn’t be more excited to team up with our friends at Quiver on Agent Recon,” said Millennium’s JJ Nugent. “Chuck Norris is one of the world’s biggest action legends and we know that audiences will be just as excited as we are to see him back on the big screen for the first time since Expendables 2.”

If somebody told me we’ll see this much (non- meme) Norris content in his 80s I wouldn’t have believed them for a second. But, the truth is stranger than fiction. Now, the only question is, where’s that Richard Norton collaboration that I’ve been waiting for for almost a decade?

Even though we’re still waiting for the rest of the fantastic STARBARIANS animated series (episodes 4 & 5 are still in production) we’ll still be getting more adventures of our favorite bounty hunter duo- Killgar and Hogstrong really, really soon.

We did get this fun mini- episode this year!

Animator Harry Patridge launched the Indiegogo campaign for his 90 pages Starbarian Tales #01 graphic novel, and if you thought his cartoons were crazy detailed, man- you’ve got another thing coming.

When a band of assassins make an attempt on the life of the seemingly immortal KILLGAR, the STARBARIANS must search out a forgotten world for any hope of answers. Their journey leads them in to the subterranean dwelling of VROGG, an all-powerful tyrant hellbent on KILLGAR’s destruction…”

Harry is joined by Ben Sawyer on colors and he makes this thing look like a missing Image Comic from the 90s in the best way possible. Pages literally explode with action!

You see what I’m talking about!

So, if Space Barbarians and Alien Pigs are you thing- be sure to check it out right here. You won’t be sorry.

And if you haven’t seen any of the cartoons before , you can check them out right here on Happy Harry Toons youtube channel. You can thank us later ⚔️

Yeah, you heard that right! After recently both staring in a 90’s tribute video game Crime Boss: Rockay City Chuck Norris and Vanilla Ice are teaming up in an Australian Action Comedy called Zombie Plane.

Chuck Norris plays none other than Commander Norris who mentors and trains Ice into becoming a deadly secret agent. They are a both a part of the secret government organization that recruits celebrities as undercover agents all in effort to save the world from the impending Zombie Apocalypse. They sure are going for the broke with this one! Movie also stars an Australian singer and actress Sophie Monk and supposedly has a ton more celebrity cameos (yet to be revealed).

To the Extreme!

Movie was directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Pier (Chop Shop Post VFX) and produced by Jessica Butland (Ruby’s Choice) and executive produced by Shaked Berenson (Turbo Kid, Tales of Halloween) and made with support of Screen Australia.

So, thank you Australia, not only do we get a first Chuck Norris feature in more than a decade, we get an unlikely comeback for Vanilla Ice who hasn’t played a main role in a movie since I guess- Cool As Ice (1991). So, naturally we leave you with this song:

Japanese Cult director Kurando Mitsutake (Gun Woman, Karate Kill) is at it again! And this time he is working on a original characters created by non other than the legendary Manga creator Go Nagai (Devilman, Mazinger Z, Cutey Honey) with heroine’s design being reminiscent of Nagai‘s Jushin Liger Manga and Anime series.

Like his debut Samurai Avenger: The Blind Wolf (2009), Mitsutake filmed Lion Girl completely in the USA with an eclectic cast. Titular Lion-Girl is portrayed by Tori Griffith and the cast is rounded out by names like Derek Mears (Swamp Thing, Friday the 13th), Shelby Lee Parks (Good Trouble), Joey Iwanaga (Enter the Fat Dragon) and one of my newer favorites David Sakurai (Fantastic Beasts 2, Iron Fist).

Some may think that the super-hero age of movies is over, but Japanese approach with crazy monsters, gratuitous violence and nudity is something else entirely.

After a premiere at Fantastic Film Festival (Australia) Lion-Girl will be released on VOD on November as well as DVD and Blu-ray so you won’t have to wait long.

In news that no one expected Slash of Guns N’ Roses ( and formerly Velvet Revolver, Slash’s Snakepit) is getting a comicbook label by Vault Comics – and his first project is something right in our wheelhouse.

It’s none other than Deathstalker, a series that has of course been a mainstay out our blog, especially the movies featuring the original actor Rick Hill ( although Deathstalker II has it’s moments). It originally began as a co- production between legendary B- movie producer Roger Corman and the Argentinian producer Hector Olivera. It ended up being such a success that they did full ten movies together- including another one of out favorites- Barbarian Queen featuring Deathstalker actress Lana Clarkson.

“I’m excited to be kicking off a new era of Deathstalker. From Tim Seeley, artist Jim Terry, writer-director-creature FX-wizard Steven Kostanski, and myself, our Deathstalker is a reimagining of that fine specimen of ’80s sword and sorcery. With fantasy, you get a little of everything: horror, magic, sex, thrills, blood, guts, swords, and weirdness. You know—all those things you can’t look away from. And that’s what we’re bringing. So—please—if you share my love of all things wicked, check it out!”- SLASH

Deathstalker and Slash have been admiring each other’s work since the 80s!

Like the man said creative team on the book is lead by Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman), writer Tim Seeley (Hack/ Slash, Masters of the Multiverse) and the artist Jim Terry (The Crow: Skinning of the Wolfs, West on Sundown).

Even thou there’s been a number of H.P. Lovecraft adaptations over the years there’s only one man who made a whole career out of it. Brian Yuzna either produced Lovecraft adaptations directed by his long- time friend Stewart Gordon or produced and directed them himself and depending on how you count it- he made at least 6 of them which must be a record or some kind. And he’s not done yet.

Starting with the production of 1985 cult- classic Re-Animator (that also introduced us to my favorite character actor- Jeffrey Combs) Yuzna continued with the completely insane From Beyond (1986) that needs to be seen to be believed, then the sequelBride of Re-Animator (1990), anthology Necronomicon (1993)- also debut of one of my favorite French directors Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf, Crying Freeman), Dagon (2001) and then finally part 3Beyond Re-Animator (2003). Even his adaptation of Costello’s Beneath Still Water (2005) that he produced in Spain still had recognizable elements of H.P. Lovecraft.

Cheers!

Now, you’d think that after more than 35 years (impressive run for a Horror producer/ director no doubt) he’d have no more Lovecrafts left but- you’d be wrong!

Little while back we heard that Joe Lynch (Mayhem, Everly, Knights of Badassdom) is directing a lose adaptation of Lovecraft’s The Thing On The Doorstep in Mississippi, Texas with Heather Graham (Boogie Nights), Judah Lewis (The Babysitter), Bruce Davison (X-Men) and Johnathon Schaech (That Thing You Do!)

Turns out it brought back some familiar faces together too. Legendary Scream Queen and the star of the aforementioned films Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, From Beyond) both acts and produces the movie and is also reunited with Yuzna as a executive producer. So, the circle is finally complete. And while we’re at it- the movie is also written by Dennis Paoli (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Dagon)!

The film is an erotic body-swapping horror, in which a psychiatrist (Heather Graham) becomes obsessed with a young client with multiple personalities. And if we’re going by experience, expect pure madness.

After a successful run at festivals including FrightFest, Fantasia Festival and Tribeca the movie will be out in theaters and VOD on October 27, just in time for Halloween, and will also hit Shudder in January of 2024.

Fresh off his Enter the Clones of Bruce documentary, actor and filmmaker Michael Worth (Acapulco H.E.A.T. , Fists of Iron) with producer Frank Djeng & Severin Films– are prepping their next project, continuing their homage to the awesome 70s Hong Kong cinema.

“Dragon Gate Inn meets John Wick” as a group of American assassins hiding out in a rural Chinese restaurant discover the owners of the establishment serve up much more than just good food!

An all- star cast includes such Kung Fu movie luminaries such as Angela Mao (Lady Whirlwind, Enter The Dragon)- in her first role since ’92(!), Dragon Lee (Clones of Bruce Lee), Bruce Leung (Kung Fu Hustle), Bruce Li (Return of the Tiger), Bruce Le (Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger) and also the “newcomer” Don Wang (Slaughter in San Francisco).

Action choreography will be handled by the renowned Jackie Chan Stunt Team member Andy Cheng (Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings, Into The Badlands, The Scorpion King).

As always you can support the movie on their Indiegogo page right here.

Now playing at Tribeca Festival to rave reviews, long gestating documentary on the Bruceploitation phenomena- Enter the Clones of Bruce finally has it’s first trailer too!

So, for us not lucky enough to see it on the big screen here’s a little taste:

The gang is all there, from Bruce Le to Dragon Lee to Bruce Liang (hell, even to Bronson Lee) and I’m also overjoyed to see the late, great Roy Horan (Tower of Death, Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow, No Retreat, No Surrender 2) interviewed. Documentary also gets bonus points from me for the inclusion of the Ninja B-movie maestro Godfrey Ho. If someone knows exploitation cinema that’s Mr. Ho.

So, it was a long time coming but as far as I can see, Clones more than delivers. Hopefully we get a release date from Severin Films before long and we can all enjoy it.
